HC Deb 26 July 1966 vol 732 c218W
Mr. Onslow

asked the Prime Minister if he will specify the cuts which are to be made in British overseas aid.

Mr. Ridley

asked the Prime Minister (1) at what rate economic aid is now running; and by how much he proposes to cut it;

(2) if he will list the countries economic aid to which he proposes to cut, together with the amounts.

Mr. Hastings

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give details of the reductions he intends to make in the level of overseas civil aid.

Mr. Diamond

The reductions on which the Government has decided must be followed by consultation with the overseas Governments and others concerned and at this stage I cannot give further details. The current rate of expenditure is related to the figure of £225 million for 1966–67 previously announced.
