HC Deb 25 July 1966 vol 732 c196W
68. Sir J. Eden

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what savings in the current financial year will now occur as a result of the measures being taken to defer investment in the public sector.

Mr. Diamond

As my right hon. Friend said in his statement on 20th July, the reduction in demands on resources by the public sector in 1967–68 by £150 million will also reduce demand in the current year. These savings will be assessed on the completion of current consultations affecting individual projects.
