HC Deb 25 July 1966 vol 732 cc210-1W
9. Mr. Jopling

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what progress has been made in his study into the organisation and methods of justice's clerk's offices.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

I am not conducting such a study, but I am aware that the County Councils Association, the Association of Municipal Corporations and the Central Council of Magistrates' Courts Committees have been considering the final report of a working party which they jointly set up to devise a work measurement system for the purpose of assessing staff complements in justices' clerks offices. I have not yet received recommendations from the three bodies.
