HC Deb 21 July 1966 vol 732 c117W
40. Mr. J. E. B. Hill

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what number and percentage of primary and secondary schools are now equipped with a television set.

Mr. Redhead

It is estimated that about 6,600 primary schools and 4,800 secondary schools in England and Wales are so equipped. This is approximately 25 per cent. of all primary and 73 per cent. of all secondary schools.

Mr. Dodds-Parker

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many classrooms there were in State educational primary and secondary schools in 1950, 1955, 1960 and 1965; and how many children were required to use these classrooms in each of these years.

Mr. Redhead
