asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will seek powers to prevent persons either in prison or with a criminal record from establishing public and private liability companies.

Mr. Darling

No. When a person is convicted on indictment of any offence in connection with the promotion, formation or management of a company, the court on application may order that he shall not, without the leave of the court, take part in the management of a company for a period not exceeding five years.
