§ 28. Mr. Moyleasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will seek to amend the Rent Act, 1965 in order to provide security of tenure to tenants of furnished premises whilst proceedings for the prosecution of the landlord for harassment are pending.
§ Mr. CrossmanUnder the Rent Act, 1965 tenants of furnished premises can apply to the rent tribunal and receive security of tenure for up to six months at a time. I see no need at present to amend this provision. If my hon. Friend has a particular case in mind perhaps he will send me details.
