HC Deb 19 July 1966 vol 732 c74W
Mr. Deedes

asked the Minister of Transport what estimate has been made by her Department on the amount of new railway construction needed in South-East England for the Channel Tunnel ; and what estimate of cost has been made.

Mr. John Morris

My right hon. Friend is in touch with the British Railways Board about rail access to a Channel Tunnel. Their preliminary view is that, with minor modifications, their present network in the South-East would be adequate for traffic to and from the Tunnel.
