HC Deb 19 July 1966 vol 732 c58W
Mr. Chichester-Clark

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works what consideration he has given to the recommendations of the Committee on the Placing and Management of Contracts of Building and Civil Engineering Work, concerning a standard form of contract and the judgment of the Restrictive Practices Court in the case of the Birmingham Association of Building Trades Employers Agreement ; what steps he proposes to take to remedy the contradiction that arises as a result of the judgment ; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Boyden

Discussions are now being held with the Board of Trade and representatives of the construction industry, under the aegis of the Economic Development Committee for Building, to examine ways in which it might be possible to implement the recommendation of the Banwell Committee consistently with the Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 1956. The outcome will not be known until after the Summer Recess.
