In February, 1965 following a request for assistance from the Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers, an officer of the Ministry, had a discussion with the Managing Director of the Wholesale Supply Co. (Hull) Ltd. of Doncaster about recognition of the union. The company was not prepared to recognise the union.
