92. Mr. Edward M. Taylorasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance what steps she will take to remove the anomaly whereby persons who have worked beyond normal retirement age are deprived of the benefit of their pension increment when applying for National Assistance.
§ Miss HerbisonThe National Assistance scheme is complementary to the National Insurance scheme, and I do not therefore think it would be right to disregard part of the pension as the hon. Member suggests.
