Mr. Geoffrey Wilsonasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will take steps to encourage the production of canned or cured Cornish pilchards in excess of the requirements of the home market, as means of providing an easily transportable high protein food suitable for distribution in the famine areas of the world.
§ Mr. PeartSurpluses of Cornish pilchards are too small and infrequent to make any useful contribution to famine relief even if they could be economically processed.
