HC Deb 21 February 1966 vol 725 c40W
Mr. Mat-Arthur

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what stage has been reached in planning the Perth city bypass; what route it will follow; and when construction will begin.

Mr. Ross

Proposals for a by-pass round the west and south of Perth between the Perth-Inverness trunk road at Inveralmond and the Perth-Dundee trunk road at Barnhill, including a new crossing of the River Tay at Friarton, are with my Department. Details of the junction at Craigend with the future Edinburgh-Perth motorway, which may affect the line, have still to be worked out. The scheme is not included in the road programme up to 1970.
