Mr. MacArthur

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what stage has now been reached in planning the various sections of the new A.90 trunk road to Perth from the present end of the M.90 motorway; if all of these sections will be constructed to motorway standards; and if the whole length of the road will be classed as a motorway.

It is intended to replace the whole length of the A.90 between Duloch and Perth by a motorway. The stages reached in planning the various sections are as follows:

Section Miles Stage
Duloch to Blairadam. 7.3 Special road scheme made.
Blairadam to Arlary. 6.75 Government department, statutory undertakers, etc. have been asked for observations on the proposed line before advertisement of the special road scheme.
Arlary to Bridge of Earn. 8.5 Final investigations being completed before consultation on the proposed line.
Bridge of Earn to Perth. 2.5

A trunk road order fixing the line of the Glenfarg Bypass was made in 1959.
