HC Deb 09 February 1966 vol 724 cc72-3W
123. Mr. Tilney

asked the Minister of Transport whether she will take steps to require the drivers of all vehicles to carry a mobile sign which can be illuminated, and which should be placed at a sufficient distance to the rear of any vehicle that breaks down on a highway at night to prevent oncoming traffic running into the vehicle that has broken down.

Mr. John Morris

My right hon. Friend has no powers to make such a requirement, but she hopes shortly to make regulations permitting the use by drivers of a red reflectorised triangle as a warning sign.
