HC Deb 09 February 1966 vol 724 cc77-8W
40. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the Minister of Transport if she will initiate a study, aimed at relieving the traffic congestion on London streets by organising the use of boats, ships and ferries on the River Thames for transport of pedestrians, freight and other traffic.

Mr. Swingler

No. I do not consider that such greater use of the Thames as might be practicable would make a significant impression on London traffic congestion.
