HC Deb 09 February 1966 vol 724 cc80-1W
91. Mr. Wingfield Digby

asked the Minister of Transport what consultations she has had with traffic flow engineers about the peak hour hold-ups at roundabouts around London, such as those at the junctions of Sutton Court Road and Great Chertsey Road with the Great West Road; and what recommendations they made.

Mr. Swingler

Our traffic engineers have frequent consultations on the problem of peak hour hold-ups at roundabouts around London. At Sutton Court Road the roundabout is now being replaced by traffic signals, and the construction of a temporary flyover at the Great Chertsey Road junction is expected to start this year. These are short-term solutions. The ultimate proposals provide for grade separation at both junctions.
