HC Deb 21 December 1966 vol 738 c335W
92. Mr. George Jeger

asked the Minister of Transport whether she is aware of the need for improvement and extension of transport to Yorkshire and Humberside as expressed in the Survey of the Regional Council; and what action is being taken to implement the recommendations contained therein.

Mrs. Castle

The approach to the transport problems of Yorkshire and Humberside adopted by the Economic Planning Council appears to be in substantial harmony with the policy I am pursuing as set out in my recent White Paper. Schemes already in the current road programme represent a first stage in implementing some of the specific recommendations and I shall give full weight to the others in drawing up future programmes.
