HC Deb 21 December 1966 vol 738 c336W
100. Mr. Boston

asked the Minister of Transport if she is aware that there is uncertainty among road users about the new general rule that vehicles entering roundabouts must give way to those already on them, and that many do not know whether or not this rule is now in force and if she will undertake a publicity campaign to clarify the regulations.

Mr. John Morris

The general advisory rule has already received considerable publicity and this will be reinforced by a short television filmlet now in production. Entrances to roundabouts are being marked with transverse broken white lines and these will serve as a reminder to drivers to give way to those already on the roundabout.
