Mr. Eyre

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will set out in the OFFICIAL REPORT a table specifying all local authorities which have received or are still receiving population under overspill schemes in England and Wales, and those local authorities for which a firm decision that they are to receive population under an overspill scheme has been made but no movement of population thereunder has yet begun.

Town development schemes are being carried out at Newmarket and Sudbury (for Greater London), Droitwich (for Birmingham), Widnes (for Liverpool), but as yet no movement of population has taken place. Birmingham City Council have also undertaken under the Town Development Act to pay housing contributions to some 20 local authorities in England and Wales if houses are let to Birmingham nominees.
