HC Deb 21 December 1966 vol 738 cc313-4W
67. Mr. Emrys Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he received from the Ayr County Council and other bodies in Ayrshire about the removal of geriatric patients from Glenafton Hospital; and if, in view of these and the waiting list for beds of geriatric patients in the county, he will consider re-opening the hospital.

Mr. Millan

The county council has written to my Department expressing concern about the evacuation of the hospital; and a number of other bodies have also made representations. As my right hon. Friend stated on 8th December, he is considering whether the hospital should be reopened on either a permanent or a short-term basis.
