asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many doctors engaged in general practice have emigrated during each of the last five years up to October, 1966.

No precise figures are available. During the four years ended 31st October, 1966 the number of general practitioners who obtained refunds of Health Service superannuation contributions and gave as their reason for leaving the Health Service that they were going abroad, was 18 in 1963, 14 in 1964, 24 in 1965, and 38 in 1966.
