§ Sir B. Jannerasked the President of the Board of Trade, in view of the fact that there is no professional body devoted full-time to saving civilian life at sea, and that the National Water Safety Committee of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents has made arrangements to confer with Government Departments and local authority associations with a view to defining responsibilities and to recommend a suitable organisation at appropriate levels for the co-ordination of water safety and rescue services, if he will support this action, in view of the necessity of a reduction in the accidental drowning rate.
§ Mr. JayI am aware of the work which is being done by the National Water Safety Committee and I am always ready to consider any suggestions the Society may care to send me.
