HC Deb 04 August 1966 vol 733 cc174-5W
68. Sir D. Renton

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he is aware that the work proposed to be done to the Old Gateway and Nos. 24 to 26 Old Buildings, Lincoln's Inn, is not mere demolition, but involves rebuilding the southern part of the Old Gateway in the Tudor facsimile in which the northern part of the Old Gateway was rebuilt in 1956 with planning approval, that this scheme is essential to replace buildings in a dangerous condition and that further delay involves risk; and whether, in view of the thorough consideration which has already been given to all aspects of the scheme, he will now allow it to proceed.

Mr. Crossman

I have nothing to add to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for the Cities of London and Westminster (Mr. John Smith) on 26th July.
