Dr. Bennett

asked the Minister of Transport what progress she has made since last Christmas towards the starting of the South Coast trunk road.

Mr. Swingler

My right hon. Friend has included the section between Ports-bridge and Bassett in the current programme and instructed the Hampshire County Council as agent authority to make surveys preparatory to determining the line of the road.
