§ Mr. David Steelasked the Secretary of State for Scotland why he has decided not to allow further expenditure on improvements to the A7 road.
§ Mr. RossI have taken no such decision. A £55,000 diversion was completed recently at Hazelbank, Midlothian; an £86,000 improvement at Wilton Hill, Hawick, is nearing completion; and a further improvement on the adjoining Galalaw to Newton section is under consideration.
