HC Deb 31 May 1965 vol 713 c162W
97. Mr. Maxwell

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will instruct the Medical Research Council to carry out research on the effects on man of the use of hormones in agriculture.

Mr. Crosland

Several Government committees have considered the possible effects on man of the use of synthetic oestrogens in agriculture.

The available evidence does not support the view that a special investigation, of the kind my hon. Friend suggests, is at present required.
