§ 46. Dame Irene Wardasked the Minister of Health whether he will give the figures of cases of dysentery among 7W schoolchildren calculated in January and September for the last 10 years and for the years 1930, 1935, and 1950; and to what cause he attributes the increase.
§ Mr. LoughlinThe following are the available figures of corrected notifications of dysentery in the age group 5 to 14 years for the first and third quarters of the years in question. The increase since 1950 may be due in part to increased prevalence of infection and in part to more thorough bacteriological investigation. The recent trend has been downward.
