HC Deb 04 May 1965 vol 711 cc160-1W
Mr. Box

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what sum contained in Civil Estimates, 1965–66, Class IV, 14, Maintenance and Minor Improvements, C and D, respectively, is due to extra expenditure to be incurred through the adoption of Worboys-type traffic signs; and what is the total provision for traffic signs.

Mr. James Griffiths

Fifty-five thousand pounds has been included under Subhead C and £140,000 under Sub-head D. It is not possible to give the total provision for traffic signs. The cost of new installations of all types of traffic signs is included as part of new construction or improvement schemes and the cost of normal maintenance and replacement of existing signs is included in the provision for general road maintenance.
