HC Deb 04 May 1965 vol 711 c135W
44. Sir H. Munro-Lucas-Tooth

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer on what assumption Government Departments and other spending authorities are basing their estimates for the current year and for each of the next four years regarding the future purchasing power of the £ sterling, in forecasting their probable expenditure in accordance with the recommendations of the Plowden Report.

Mr. Callaghan

In order to be able to compare changes from year to year surveys of prospective public expenditure are made on the basis of constant prices.
