HC Deb 04 May 1965 vol 711 c149W
Mr. F. Noel-Baker

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what action has been taken by Her Majesty's Government to assist in the relief of the victims of the recent earthquake disaster in Greece.

Mr. George Thomson

Her Majesty's Ambassador in Athens has delivered to the Greek Government and Greek Red Cross 100 tents, each capable of accommodating 10 people, as a gift from Her Majesty's Government and the British Red Cross to assist the victims of this disaster. The cost to Her Majesty's Government was £5,000 and the expense of air transport from Cyprus.

An advance will be obtained from the Civil Contingencies Fund pending the voting of the appropriate estimate.
