HC Deb 09 March 1965 vol 708 c63W
Mr. Stainton

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what measures he has in view to eradicate sub-standard house building; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Crossman

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer given today to questions by my hon. Friends the Members for Birmingham, Yardley (Mr. Ioan L. Evans) and Willesden East (Mr. Freeson).

Mr. Stainton

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what survey or estimate his Department has made of the incidence of sub-standard building for owner occupation, differentiating the results as far as possible between types of complaint; and whether he will circulate the findings in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Mr. Crossman

No comprehensive survey or estimate has been made. The information available about the standards of houses built for owner-occupation is quite inadequate. I am taking steps to remedy this.
