§ Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will now estimate the reduction in imports as a result of the 15 per cent. surcharge and the reduction of exports and export orders as a result of disturbance of trade and loss of goodwill resulting from the surcharge.
§ Mr. JayIt is not possible to isolate the effects of the charge from other influences, but in the three months November to January imports were lower, and exports higher, than in the previous three months.
