HC Deb 21 June 1965 vol 714 cc146-7W
60. Mr. Murton

asked the Minister of Health to what extent the British Safety Council has official recognition.

61. Sir J. Eden

asked the Minister of Health if he is aware of the recent report of the British Safety Council concerning the health and safety facilities of a number of coastal resorts; whether the Council has been officially recognised by Her Majesty's Government; and what complaints have been received about British seaside resorts by his Department since the last holiday season.

Mr. Loughlin

This body is not officially recognised. I am aware of the Press reports, but not of any complaints to my right hon. Friend.

Mr. Murton

asked the Minister of Health whether he will investigate the methods used by the British Safety Council in promoting activities in the field of health and safety.

Mr. Loughlin

I am not aware of any grounds for my right hon. Friend doing so, nor does he have any powers for this purpose.
