§ Mr. David Priceasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware of the increasing accident rate on the A.35 through through the village of Ashurst, Hampshire; and whether he will authorise a 40 miles per hour speed limit through Ashurst.
§ Mr. Tom FraserThe accident rate on this length of road remained substantially the same over the period from 1st January, 1962, to 31st December, 1964.
The Hampshire County Council has applied for my consent to the imposition of a 40 m.p.h. speed limit and I have asked for further details about conditions on the road before reaching a decision.
