§ 68. Mr. Mikardoasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance what estimate she has made of the number of recipients of National Assistance benefits who are affected by the wage stop and of the number of children under 16 years of age in the families of these recipients.
§ Mr. Mappasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance if she will tabulate for the latest available period the number of families and children who, because of the wage stop, receive less 14W than the National Assistance Board scale of allowances.
§ Miss HerbisonIn December, 1964, the National Assistance allowances of approximately 14,000 unemployed persons were restricted by reference to their normal earnings. The number of their dependent children is estimated to be 59,000.
