§ 109. Mr. G. Campbellasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what progress is being made in disarmament negotiations, in particular towards the conclusion of an agreement on non-dissemination of nuclear weapons.
§ Mr. George ThomsonI would refer the hon. Member to the speech by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister in the foreign affairs debate on 16th December. The Government attach high importance to making progress in the disarmament field. We hope that when the Geneva Disarmament Conference reassembles it will be possible to make progress towards our declared objectives which include, as a matter of urgency, an agreement on the non-dissemination of nuclear weapons.
