HC Deb 09 December 1965 vol 722 c137W
55. Mr. Wallace

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps he proposes to take to bring hours of meals in prisons on to a normal basis.

Miss Bacon

Meals are served at normal hours except that in some prisons dinner has to be served shortly before twelve noon.

56. Mr. Wallace

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will ensure that meals served in Her Majesty's Prisons, particularly breakfast, are brought up to a palatable standard.

Miss Bacon

Much importance is attached to the quality of prisoners' meals. They are, I hope, always palatable.
