Mr. Lomasasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will retain British Summer Time in future years as a permanent feature, to bring Great Britain in line with the industrialised nations of Western Europe, including the European Free Trade Association countries and those in the Common Market.
§ Mr. George ThomasMy right hon. and learned Friend is not satisfied that the time is yet opportune for this change, but he will keep the proposal in mind. There are many other considerations to be taken into account in fixing summer time.
