Mrs. McKay

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many schemes to make better provision for public recreation and leisure-time activities have now been submitted to him for approval by each of the London boroughs; and if, in reaching decisions, he will give special consideration to Clapham, where a high proportion of people live in large blocks of flats.

Details are shown in the attached list. But as my hon. Friend will be aware, from the statement made by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer on 27th July, loan sanction for projects of this kind cannot be given at the present time unless the circumstances are exceptional.
