HC Deb 02 August 1965 vol 717 c234W
Mr. Ennals

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he is satisfied that the terms of the Town and Country Planning Acts of 1947 and 1962 provide him and the home planning authorities with adequate powers to prevent the demolition of buildings of architectural or historic interest; and whether he will re-examine the methods by which lists of buildings are compiled and the degrees of protection accorded to listed buildings.

Mr. Crossman

I have been examining all these problems: we are pressing on urgently to complete the issue of the statutory lists, but we shall also revise some lists to give more weight to groups of buildings of special interest.
