§ 80. Sir Ian Orr-Ewingasked the Minister of Aviation how many of the electronic equipments for use in the Concord will be purchased from Great Britain how many from France, and how many from the United States of America.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsDecisions have so far been taken on the supply of eleven of the more important items of electronic equipment for the Concord. Of these, two major orders have been placed with58W British, three with French and two much smaller orders with American companies. In addition four orders have been placed with British and French companies who are associated with American firms.
§ 81. Sir Ian Orr-Ewingasked the Minister of Aviation which of the electronic equipment developed as a result of Government contracts for use in the TSR2, P1154, or HS681, will be completed, modified and ordered for use in the Concord.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsNone. Most of the TSR2 electronic equipment was developed specifically for its military use as a weapons system and is quite unsuitable for civil aircraft use. No new electronic equipment was being developed specifically for the HS681 aircraft and the amount of development work on electronic equipment for the P1154 aircraft which had been carried out was very small.
