HC Deb 26 April 1965 vol 711 c12W
Mr. Prior

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what representations have been made to him for changes in the periods of the apple quota in order to allow the home industry to obtain the full value from the modernisation of their storage equipment; and what reply he has sent.

Mr. Peart

The National Farmers' Union has asked whether the periods of the apple quota could be adjusted to give additional protection to the marketing of home grown apples coming out of store. The Union has been told that their request will be borne in mind, but that it is only one of the factors to be taken into account when reviewing quota arrangements.
