§ 37. Mr. Goodhartasked the Minister of Power what progress has been made in the removal of restrictive practices preventing the sensible use of manpower in the electricity industry during the past six months.
§ Mr. Frederick LeeLast June, the electricity boards and the trade unions in the industry's National Joint Industrial Council agreed a statement on the co-operation of employees with management to achieve the best possible use of manpower and to improve service to consumers. This agreement has been actively supported by the trade unions and considerable progress has been made in carrying it out but it will be some time before the full effects can be assessed.
