§ 55. Mr. George Craddockasked the Minister of Education why no additional expenditure is forecast for the expansion of adult education administered by responsible bodies such as the Workers' Educational Association in the financial year 1964–65.
§ Sir E. BoyleI did not feel justified in proposing further expansion in 1964–65, over and above what was sanctioned in 1963–64, in view of the Government's heavy and increasing commitments on other forms of education.
§ 56. Mr. George Craddockasked the Minister of Education if, in view of the trend in the Robbins Report, and education generally, he will grant additional assistance in the field of adult education.
§ Sir E. BoyleI have agreed that the four long-term residential colleges which have firm plans for expansion should start their building work during the years 1965–68. This will cost about £400,000, half of which will be found by the Ministry.
