§ 39. Dr. Brayasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is satisfied that the law on the enforcement of maintenance orders has been working satisfactorily since the last general review in 1958; and if he will conduct a further review.
§ Mr. WoodhouseMy right hon. Friend is aware and much regrets that in some cases difficulties are experienced in enforcing maintenance orders. These were not unforeseen when the law was last changed in 1958, but it proved impossible to devise any fair and practical way of forestalling all of them. While my right hon. Friend is naturally very ready to consider any suggestions for further improvement of the law, he can see no advantage in a general review.
