HC Deb 04 June 1964 vol 695 c187W
43. Mr. Gresham Cooke

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether it is the policy of the Metropolitan Police to tow away cars on a Saturday morning in areas where there is no charge for meters on a Saturday, when the car is left adjoining but not in a parking bay; and if he is satisfied that such a policy is in the public interest.

Mr. Woodhouse

Parking Places Orders prohibit the parking of vehicles at prescribed times, save for certain purposes, at places other than parking bays, and it is the duty of the police to enforce this prohibition whether or not charges are levied for the use of the parking bays.
