§ Dr. Alan Glynasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what assistance Her Majesty's Government will give to Costa Rica in connection with the volcano Irazu which has been erupting since March, 1963, causing harm to the Costa Rican economy.
§ Mr. MathewHer Majesty's Government have agreed to make a gift to the Costa Rican Government of £ 30,000, to be spent on United Kingdom goods and/or services to help the Costa Ricans in their present difficulties. They are also prepared to provide appropriate technical assistance. Parliament will in due course be asked to vote the amount required in 403W respect of the gift during the current financial year by means of a Supplementary Estimate. In the meantime, advances will be obtained from the Civil Contingencies Fund as required.
