§ Lord Balnielasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will review the requirements laid down in the Schedule to the Registration of Births and Deaths (Consular Officers) Regulations, 1948, so as to bring them into line with regulations applying to the registration of births in England and Wales, and in particular amend the regulations relating to the surname used by a mother who has been married more than once.
§ Mr. MathewA general review of the Consular regulations relating to the registration of births and deaths is to be carried out as soon as practicable. The review will include consideration 345W of an amendment to the regulations designed to meet the point raised in my noble Friend's Question.
