HC Deb 28 January 1964 vol 688 c32W
Mr. Lubbock

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether a decision has now been made on the textbooks to be introduced in Bechuanaland Protectorate school; when the changeover will take place; and if he will expedite the placing of the old South African textbooks in the Library.

Mr. Sandys

Some changes have already been made, but further decisions await the report of an expert who is expected to visit the Territory for about three months in the Spring to advise on the syllabus for primary schools.

Copies of such South African textbooks as are still in use in Bechuanaland are being forwarded and will be placed in the Library when they arrive.
