Mr. W. Hamilton

asked the Minister of Labour if he will publish a table showing the number of jobs lost in Scotland in each of the last 12 years, and the industries in which the decline occurred.

The only reliable and comprehensive figures are those derived from changes in the numbers of employees in employment. The following table shows the changes in Scotland between 1951 and 1958 and for each year
